Sunday April 15, Day 1

Well, day 1 is not getting off as we had planned. Bob found out about 11:30pm last night that our flight from Akron/Canton to JFK had been canceled due to bad weather in New York. Delta had changed our flight to an afternoon flight, getting into New York after the Kiev flight departed. He spent over an hour on the phone with Delta and couldn't find any options that would get us to New York in time for our flight to Kiev. We cannot take the chance of missing our flight from JFK to Kiev. We have to be there on the 17th. If we are not, we have to start all over again from square one. We have a beautiful little girl waiting for us, therefore we are NOT going to miss our flight to Kiev. So Bob just picked up a rental car from the airport and we are leaving tonight for New York. We will drive until we get tired, stop at a hotel and then complete our trip later in the morning. So, it's 1:30am and we are driving to JFK. It's about a 7 1/2 hour drive.
For all of you that were going to meet us at the airport this morning. Thank you, thank you, so very much. I am very upset myself because I was so looking forward to seeing everyone & praying with all of you before we got on our airplane.
I know that you guys will continue to pray. Please pray that we have a safe drive to JFK. That the weather holds out in time for us to make our flight from JFK to Kiev. That our adoption goes smoothly and quickly. Pray for our kids here at home.
They are starting to have a little trouble with us leaving. I'm sure they will be fine, it just all this initial getting going stuff. They all will be well taken care of by family & friends. Of course, pray for my nerves and my anxiety about going & also about leaving the other girls at home. We love you all & will let you know something when we know.

God Bless,
Gail
