Day 9. Monday, April 23 2007

Hello everyone. Our facilitator was suppose to pick us up at 3:00 pm. She called at 3:40 pm & said she would be another 30 - 40 minutes, but she was still late and didn't get here till 5:00 pm. Busy lady. But that's OK. LOL. It takes us about 30 minutes to get to the orphanage, so it was after 6:00pm till we saw Natasha. The orphanage director was busy for a while. When Natasha came in she sat down in between Bob & I and gave us both hugs. We found out that she is only in 3rd grade here. She started later because of her situation that put her in the boarding school in the first place. She will have some catching up to do in school when we get home. But she is a smart girl & will do fine. It will be good that the end of school is near and summertime will be first for her. To play & learn English should help her a lot.

We gave out the gifts that some of you had sent with us. The only one that was actually there to receive her gift was Alyona. Taya, Ira & Kola, and Elonya (sp) were at the Sanatorium/camp. Rymma & Artyom are, of course at another orphanage. We did pass out candy to some of the kids from the hosting program. Russel, big Sergei & little Sergei, Marina & Svetlana were there. Edward was at the hospital because he had the flu. They told us he cried because he knew we were coming & he wanted to pass on to his American family that he loved them. Sasha was out playing. We did see Sasha Friday & Saturday very briefly. She gave us a hug and looked good, but we didn't think to take her picture. Sorry about that. Of course, our Natasha was there. Sorry about any misspelled names.
The conclusions of from the juvinlie authority work were sent out to Kiev on Saturday. They are still at the SDA waiting for approval & our consent to adopt. We should have them signed by Tuesday or Wednesday. That means we will get them here Wednesday or Thursday. Our facilitator was not able to reach the judge today, so she plans on going there in person tomorrow. We are still praying that we can get in to see the Judge this week for our court date. Our facilitator was talking about trying for Friday, but is not sure she can get our date scheduled without the consent to adopt from Kiev.
We go tomorrow to make our formal application for a court date. We will also visit Natasha again tomorrow. They are talking about letting Natasha stay with us at our apartment on Saturday - Wednesday, during next weeks holidays. She is thrilled, as we are also !!!!
Lynn & Doug. Nice to hear from you. How is everything going on your end ??
Michelle, Matthew is sooo funny. I miss all of your kids also. Tell them we said "hi." I'm glad Sammy did good.
Oh my darling first born child. Trouble from the beginning ? Maybe just 22 hours of labor, but you did that on purpose. LOL. And I would do it all over again if I had to. My confident, determined leader. Take pride in being the first born. Look how many wonderful characteristics you got from that. Besides, Grandma & Grandpa spoil you the most. LOL. I'm glad you saw Kim. Any word on Cailin & Kelly yet. We told them to talk to us on the blog, but nothing yet.
Hey dad !!!!!! Look at my pictures at least. The computer can't be that bad. How's your head feeling ???
Love to everyone,
God Bless,
Gail

It warms my heart to look at these beautiful children and know that they have forever families waiting for them! How blessed they (and their families) are. Still praying.

Dear Bob and Gail,

I want you to know how much it means to us that you are sharing this wonderful experience. Hearing your joys and struggles is like a healing balm to us at home that await an SDA appoinment. I know God is also glorified in all that you are experiencing and I know he is blessing your family at this very moment. I think the welcome picture of Gail and Natasha is my favorite. I could almost feel the joy and emotion through the PC.
